Progress announced new powerful capabilities and enhancements in the latest release of Progress® Sitefinity®.
SmartBear Software released a new version of Collaborator, the dev collaboration tool that helps development, testing and management teams work together to produce high quality code.
Collaborator 9.5 adds enhanced security as well as a simplified trial experience with a hosted trial option via the cloud.
“We are continuously updating and working to ensure that Collaborator uses the most secure and stable versions of Web components available,” said Justin Collier, Product Owner, Collaborator at SmartBear. “Users should feel confident that Collaborator 9.5 is a trusted source. Additionally, we have made Collaborator as easy as possible to trial and then transfer data into a production version.”
Single Sign On now provides organizations the ability to allow access to common applications through a single authentication portal. Users are able to access all Web applications without having to log in to each one separately.
In addition to convenience, having a single end point for authentication allows for increased security and a smaller attack surface for phishing and other assaults against organizations. Users can feel confident that they are providing their credentials to a trusted source.
Collaborator’s new hosted trial option allows for a simplified trial experience via the cloud. There is zero set up time with this cloud version and no IT involvement necessary. When the trial is complete, data can be easily transferred into a production environment. The on-premises Collaborator server installer has also been improved to make the install process easier than ever before. In less than five minutes, Collaborator can be up and running with its basic configuration.
