Progress announced new powerful capabilities and enhancements in the latest release of Progress® Sitefinity®.
NodeSource announced the release of a new, integrated product platform.
Teams can now benefit from a more cohesive set of solutions for Engineering and DevOps, as well as a more streamlined user experience.
This release also marks the first time NodeSource has offered a free-forever pricing tier, targeted at individual developers or those working on small projects.
An additional new self-serve tier now makes NodeSource’s platform more accessible with SMB-friendly pricing.
This release also includes a publicly available beta version of the NodeSource Certified Modules (NCM) desktop application and minor UI improvements to the N|Solid runtime.
In addition, the company announced updates to its two core solutions with the releases of NCM Desktop and N|Solid 3.3. NCM Desktop is a developer-friendly desktop application that provides a secure, private registry for public Node modules. N|Solid 3.3 is the latest version of a hardened enterprise-class Node.js runtime solution for managing, securing and analyzing mission-critical Node.js applications.
“Our platform offers individual developers and companies of all sizes the security, assurance, and visibility that current NodeSource customers have come to rely upon,” said Thomas DeMeo, NodeSource CEO. “The addition of free and SMB-friendly pricing tiers makes the NodeSource Platform more accessible to teams and individuals outside the enterprise realm. This release exposes NodeSource’s platform to the 80 percent of the Node.js user base who work at organizations with 1,000 or fewer employees.”
NCM is a secure, private registry for public Node.js modules. Users can now install the beta release of NCM Desktop, which offers an improved user experience and allows the use of npm or Yarn for package management as well as better cache management and more customizable settings. The NCM Desktop application is available for download on macOS, Linux or Windows during the beta release period.
N|Solid 3.3 is a new and improved version of N|Solid featuring customer-driven UI improvements and performance enhancements to provide an even smoother user experience.
“As part of our commitment to deliver an empowering user experience, we are continuously improving the Certified Modules and N|Solid solutions,” continued DeMeo. "Security, ease-of-use and broadening access to our solutions were the main drivers for these two releases, and we’re eager to hear feedback from the Node.js community.”
