Postman announced an update that features more ways for developers and teams to manage access control. The release of Postman 7.0 adds extended roles and permissions that allow users to manage teammates on collection, team and workspace levels.
According to Postman, this major update allows team leaders to assign permissions at every level to keep team workflows organized and ensure that each teammate has a clear role in contributing to the development of their APIs.
“Along with performance enhancements, and a better in-app learning experience, the latest release of Postman delivers the granular access management our users need to maximize operational efficiency and protect sensitive API code,” Abhinav Asthana, CEO and founder of Postman.
Examples of the new roles include:
- Workspace Admin: can edit workspace information such as name, summary and settings
- Workspace Collaborator: can view all resources in the workspace as well as add and remove stuff
- Team Developer: has access to team resources
Additionally, Postman announced a beta rollout of its new API Development Platform will be coming this spring.
