JFrog Opens New Tokyo Office
December 06, 2018

JFrog announced the establishment of a new entity, JFrog Japan K.K.

Solidifying JFrog's commitment to the Japanese software market and open-source community, the company has appointed industry veteran Katsunori Tanaka as Country Manager and established a regional partnership program with local partners.

Shlomi Ben Haim, JFrog Co-founder and CEO, said: "As Japan adopts DevOps tools and methodologies rapidly, it's clear we need to be close to our customers and community. We're on a rapid global growth path, and Japan is an important market for us. We've seen continued growth in JFrog tools adoption in Japan, and we're committed to investing in the country as we help Japanese enterprises and open-source community make the shift to DevOps."

"IDC forecasts that the Asian DevOps market will see significant growth in the coming years," said Stephen Elliot, Program Vice President, Management Software and DevOps for IDC and co-author of IDC's "Worldwide DevOps Software Forecast 2018-2022." The report indicates the APAC region - including Japan - is expected to see DevOps market growth of nearly 200% in that time frame.

Earlier this year, JFrog appointed its first country manager in Japan. Bringing over 30 years of business development experience in the IT software industry across Japan and Silicon Valley, Katsunori Tanaka joined JFrog from Autodesk, to drive the DevOps community in Japan and expand JFrog's presence in the region. Prior to Autodesk, Tanaka held leadership roles at some of the world's leading brands, including Adobe, Nextag, N.E.W., Toshiba and Sharp Corporation.

To further extend its commitment in the region, JFrog announces its first regional partnership with Macnica Networks Corp., an established reseller in the DevOps domain in Japan representing JFrog technology partner solutions such as GitHub Enterprise, CircleCI and others. Alongside JFrog local team and other selected partners, Macnica will provide Japanese customers with localized and dedicated support, training and engineering resources, related to the JFrog offering.

"We see the DevOps market as a key driver in our customers' Digital Transformation and we are thrilled to add JFrog to our growing portfolio of leading DevOps tools in Japan," said Jun Ikeda, Macnica Networks Corp. President. "The demand for JFrog's solutions within our customer base is growing rapidly, and we look forward to partnering with JFrog to help customers adopt and accelerate DevOps to scale their business."
