Puppet announced the Puppet Enterprise App for Splunk that extends the Splunk platform to give enterprises greater visibility into the changes in their infrastructure.
The Puppet Enterprise App for Splunk now extends the Splunk platform to Puppet customers to diagnose issues and solve problems faster, so they can deploy critical changes with confidence.
“Proactive and automated monitoring allows people to do what they do best: make informed decisions based on fast, reliable feedback loops,” said Nigel Kersten, CIO of Puppet. “By using the Splunk platform, joint customers can trust that their systems are always in compliance and see changes as they’re happening.”
The Puppet Enterprise App for Splunk ingests data into Splunk Enterprise to analyze performance metrics for Puppet Enterprise services such as PuppetDB, the Puppet Server and console services. The app also enables customers to create their own customized visualizations in Splunk Enterprise. Users now can have more than just data — they have information that can be shared between teams, facilitating greater collaboration to continuously deliver software quickly and reliably.
This app enables customers to:
- Visualize activity across the Puppet Enterprise infrastructure. Customers can be assured that Puppet services are running correctly, and quickly spot potential performance issues.
- Deploy Splunk software using Puppet Enterprise. Customers can automate the installation and management of Splunk servers and the Splunk Universal Forwarder, and gain the ability to configure both with shared configurations. The Puppet module is available on the Puppet Forge.
“High-performing IT teams move faster while increasing reliability,” said Andi Mann, Chief IT Markets Evangelist, Splunk. “To do that, you need to have full transparency and visibility across organizations. The Puppet App for Splunk extends the Splunk platform to give the insights and automation that enable enterprises to react quickly and with confidence.”
