Keynote Mobile Testing Now Available with Microsoft Visual Studio Online Team Services and Team Foundation Server
December 03, 2015

Keynote, part of Dynatrace, announced integration of Keynote Mobile Testing with Microsoft Visual Studio Team Service and Team Foundation Server (TFS).

The integration will allow Microsoft Corp. customers to test their applications on the industry’s largest library of interactive mobile devices from the Keynote DeviceAnywhere Cloud and collaborate seamlessly with development teams throughout the entire application development lifecycle, on-premise or in the cloud.

Positive user experience has become the most important factor in the success of a mobile application with nearly half of users stating they would stop using an app after experiencing performance issues. However, developers are challenged to improve app functionality and integrate third party content and services while continuously testing code to ensure quality is not compromised. Today’s integration provides organizations with a complete set of tools critical for development teams, from collaboration to testing, in today’s fast-paced development environment.

Visual Studio Team Services provides developers with a cloud-based set of tools, compatible with any existing Integrated Developer Environment (IDE), for developers to collaborate on software development projects. Starting today, customers will be able to access Keynote Mobile Testing directly through Microsoft Visual Studio Online Team Services, giving developers the ability to test applications on real devices in Keynote’s DeviceAnywhere Cloud. Through these integrations, developers will be able to run continuous tests, including both Appium and Keynote scripts, against real interactive devices ensuring no compromise to quality as applications move through the development lifecycle.

“Today’s digital consumers have high expectations for the mobile applications they use – they have virtually unlimited choices and if an application does not deliver, they simply move on,” said Howard Wilson, GM, Keynote. “It is critical that development teams have access to complete development environments that allow them to efficiently develop and deploy high-functioning, cutting-edge applications. With this new integration, we are giving developers the tools they need to deliver positive digital experiences.”

“With the rise of mobile and consumer expectations, development teams are faced with more pressure than ever before to deliver functionality and performance,” said Tom Lindeman, Director of Partner and Channel Marketing, Microsoft Corp, general manager, Developer Platform Marketing, Microsoft Corp. “Microsoft Visual Studio is designed to provide the necessary tools to allow teams to successfully collaborate on development projects. With Keynote Mobile Testing integration, those teams can also ensure app quality is up to the standard users have come to expect.”

Visual Studio Online Team Services customers can now request a free trial of Keynote Mobile Testing directly within Visual Studio Online Team Services. TFS customers can also request a free trial on the Keynote Mobile Testing site.
