SmartBear Sponsors Selenium Project
October 07, 2015

SmartBear Software has become a Platinum Sponsor of the Selenium Project to help drive scalability and speed of Selenium implementation within organizations.

SmartBear has a long history of supporting the open source community with tools like SoapUI and Swagger, and with this sponsorship, it continues to build upon that commitment.

“We are honored to continue our support of the open source community through the Selenium Project sponsorship,” said Nikhil Kaul, Product Manager, Testing Products at SmartBear. “Open source software such as Selenium is becoming more prevalent in organizations, especially given it helps to reduce total cost of ownership (TCO). Our aim with this partnership is to help further reduce maintenance costs and drive adoption of Selenium by helping drive scalability and expanding the pool of users who can consume Selenium.”

Selenium provides multiple advantages, given it supports multiple languages, offers multi-browser support and is platform agnostic. The integration of SmartBear’s TestComplete and QAComplete with Selenium builds upon these benefits as it enables developers and testers to balance the need for cost savings with the requirements for scalability and speed. Using TestComplete, developers can easily scale their Selenium tests and run multiple tests in parallel without having to maintain and setup another open source tool such as Selenium Grid. Similarly, out of box integrations with other open source API tools such as SoapUI allows developers and testers to go beneath the user interface and account for unpredicted changes made to back-end services.

QAComplete enables managers to have one view across Selenium and other manual, automated and API tests. This helps mitigate risk and speeds the rollout of new capabilities while ensuring proper coverage exists for requirements before release.
