GitHub announced Copilot Chat, an AI-powered platform transformation that infuses AI in every step of the developer lifecycle, enabling natural language to become the universal programming language.

Highlights include:

- Copilot Chat: Generally available for Copilot users at no additional cost in the IDE, and coming to mobile and github.com soon — to keep you in the flow no matter where you are.

- Updates include: powered by GPT-4, code-aware guidance, inline chat experience, slash commands, smart actions, and JetBrains support.

- Copilot Enterprise: A new subscription tier that culminates the entirety of our Copilot offerings, and personalizes and customizes them with the context of your organization's codebases — muultiplying existing Copilot productivity gains.

- Copilot Workspace: An early glimpse at our future vision of using AI to go from idea to code. Combining the details of the issue with the knowledge of the codebase and the reasoning capabilities of GPT-4, Copilot Workspace is an AI-powered, natural language bridge to help every developer go from idea to running code in minutes.

- GitHub Advanced Security with AI: Adding GPT-4 powered security features like code scanning autofix and secret scanning for generic secrets — designed to prevent and detect more security vulnerabilities across your organization.
