MuleSoft announced MuleSoft Catalyst, an operating model for customers to allow both the business and IT to build, innovate and deliver on their objectives in an agile and governed way.
MuleSoft Catalyst is a set of packaged offerings, including best practices, assets, services and customer success programs, for companies that want to unleash the full power of all of their enterprise data through API-led connectivity. In order to create reusable assets, provide federated access to integration, enable self-service and reduce complexity, a new organizational capability is required. Anypoint Platform's ease of use combined with MuleSoft Catalyst allows IT teams to transform from the traditional function as a sole technology provider to enablers of the business, providing a set of strategic assets and technology to support innovation and drive business outcomes.
MuleSoft Catalyst provides the blueprint for delivering an agile operating model and building organization-wide reuse and discovery through an application network. An API-led approach enables organizations to make connectivity reality, by unlocking the value of existing systems with APIs, and innovate rapidly, without losing security or control of critical enterprise data.
MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform is a complete solution for API-led connectivity that creates a seamless application network of apps, data, and devices, both on-premises and in the cloud. It includes a hybrid iPaaS, ESB, and a unified solution for API management, design and publishing. More than 900 enterprise customers across industries are using MuleSoft's products to transform their business. Customers can achieve up to 200 percent productivity gains and deliver technology initiatives in one-third the time when compared to custom code or legacy alternatives.
MuleSoft Catalyst makes it possible for lines of business, architects and developers to create applications and innovate much more freely.
Key components and organizational capabilities include:
- Catalyst Business Transformation: bimodal or multi-modal IT delivery model tailored to a customer’s business transformation and environment;
- Catalyst C4E: a new organizational approach that redefines the “center of excellence” as a virtual entity focused on enablement that provides the tools, templates and assets for accelerating the development of new digital applications;
- Catalyst Rapid Start: tailored, consultative program designed to deliver technical expertise and best practices, based on experience and knowledge from hundreds of hands-on enterprise customer implementations; and
- Catalyst Accelerate: set of outcome-oriented engagement accelerators, including business outcome drivers and diagnoses for effectiveness, designed to help IT expand its offering within and outside the organization.
“As technology advances and organizations undergo digital transformation, we are seeing the IT team’s remit evolve simultaneously to deliver more to the business,” said Ross Mason, Founder and VP of Product Strategy, MuleSoft. “With the release of MuleSoft Catalyst, we are empowering CIOs and the IT team to become a strategic function for the enterprise, responsible for supporting business innovation. It provides guiding principles aimed to help customers achieve these business outcomes faster through API-led connectivity.”
