Citrix Acquires Cedexis
February 12, 2018

Citrix announced the acquisition of Cedexis, a real-time, data-driven service for dynamically optimizing the flow of traffic across public clouds, data centers, CDNs, and ISPs.

By combining the Citrix networking portfiolio with Cedexis technology, customers can deliver a superior experience to their end users. Whether it is for business to employee (B2E) apps, business to business (B2B), or business to consumer (B2C) apps, enterprises can drive better end-user engagement, higher workspace productivity and infrastructure efficiency by lowering IT’s costs for cloud and network services. The combined power of Citrix and Cedexis can significantly improve app performance in hybrid and multi-cloud environments using Cedexis’ dynamic and programmable intelligent traffic steering technology.

With modern distributed applications powered by micro-services in hybrid and multi-cloud environments, Citrix can now offer dynamic real-time intelligent traffic management that enables infrastructure orchestration and real-time actionable insights into end-user engagement. Citrix can deliver high quality of experience regardless of load and latency across different network paths.

Cedexis extends Citrix's ability to provide customers with deeper real-time insight into network performance and enables intelligent traffic steering for applications in multi-cloud environments.

“IT teams will be able to respond and act quicker when troubleshooting network issues, managing load across clouds, and handling capacity changes to scale with business needs,” said Steve Shah, VP of Product Management at Citrix. “Moreover, IT can reduce network and cloud costs while providing the best end-user experience. It’s like combining GPS and a self-driving car to ensure traffic takes the most efficient and effective route; it is a game changer.”

With this acquisition, Citrix is able to offer even more flexibility and choice to customers as they accelerate their journey to the cloud. Citrix will enable IT with real-time traffic steering based on user telemetry data, as well as advanced analytics and insights that dynamically adjust to apps and networking conditions. This will improve operational performance and ensure business continuity for all hybrid and multi-cloud deployments.

“Citrix and Cedexis are a natural combination. We see tremendous value for our customers and partners, along with significant growth potential for our solutions,” said Ryan Windham, CEO of Cedexis. “Citrix is the clear leader in software-defined networking that helps IT adopt and manage complex cloud environments. It makes sense to combine our offerings into a comprehensive secure digital perimeter approach, which unifies and delivers the apps, data and services people need to be productive.”
