Docker announced the acquisition of InfoSiftr, LLC, a company specializing in container images and registries that helps developers ship applications with increased velocity, agility and security.
InfoSiftr is a long-term contributor to Docker open source projects and is one of its core maintainers. Through the acquisition, InfoSiftr brings foundational knowledge and experience that it has developed over eight years in partnering with Docker on the Docker Official Image program.
“With InfoSiftr joining Docker, we accelerate our investment and leadership position in trusted content for the developer community,” said Docker CEO Scott Johnston.
Docker Hub is the world’s largest marketplace of container images and ecosystem integrations helping developers build secure software supply chains. In acquiring InfoSiftr, Docker adds more focus towards providing high-quality and compliance-orientated container images.
“InfoSiftr simplifies burdensome processes around images and containers by providing the basic building blocks that organizations can use to build their full application stack to enable developers to ship apps better, faster and more securely,” said Justin Steele, InfoSiftr Founder and President. “Docker’s obsessive focus on developer success aligns well with our vision that trusted content is critical in any modern software development practice.”
All InfoSiftr employees will join Docker. The InfoSiftr team will work closely with Docker’s go-to-market and engineering teams to deliver even stronger offerings and operating structures to help Docker advance its trusted content mission.
