Akuity Introduces Security-Hardened Argo CD
March 13, 2024

Akuity announced a new offer targeted at Enterprises and businesses where security and compliance are key.

The Akuity Platform is a Kubernetes application delivery platform powered by Argo CD, Akuity Co-Founders — CEO Hong Wang, CTO Jesse Suen, and Chief Architect Alexander Matyushentsev — are also the co-creators of the Argo Project. Argo CD is a part of the Argo project, a suite of open source tools purpose-built for deploying and running applications and workloads on Kubernetes that also includes Argo Rollouts, Argo Workflows, and Argo Events.

"The amount of cloud-native applications shipped daily is growing at an unprecedented pace, and businesses need solutions that can harden their security posture," said Hong Wang, Akuity’s CEO. "Our security-hardened Argo CD offers just that - a powerful, compliant, and highly secure GitOps solution that allows businesses to thrive in the digital landscape with confidence."

With Akuity's new offering, businesses will benefit from:

- Hardened Distroless Argo CD Container Images: reducing the attack surface of your application containers.

- SBOM and CVE Patching for Argo CD: keeping you ahead of vulnerabilities with regular patching and real-time security scanning.

- FIPS-compliant Builds: adhering to the highest standards of security compliance.

- Extended Kubernetes Compatibility: maintaining compatibility with the last 5 Kubernetes releases.

- Enterprise Image Repositories: safeguarding your container images with a highly available OCI repository.

- Kubernetes CSP Compatibility: ensuring compatibility with your chosen Kubernetes Cloud Service Provider.

Adding this offering on top of Akuity Platform’s agent-based architecture, which strengthens Argo CD security from the start, offers businesses a streamlined pathway to FedRAMP authorization and unparalleled GitOps security.
