Sonar Acquires Structure101
October 21, 2024

Sonar acquired Structure101, a pioneer in code structure analysis, to further the company's promise of enabling all developers and organizations to improve the quality and security of their code, whether AI-generated or human-written.

“Poorly structured code is difficult for developers to maintain, slows down productivity and overall innovation, while also increasing security risk,” said Fabrice Bellingard, VP of Product at Sonar. “By incorporating design and architecture issue identification early in the development process, we can save developers countless hours and help them avoid costly bugs and security issues from the start."

Folding Structure101’s capabilities into into Sonar's SonarQube and SonarCloud products will allow for the identification of structural issues as code is written, rather than in review cycles further out in the development lifecycle. This will help Sonar further reduce code complexity, increase the speed of development, and help organizations be more flexible in their response to market changes and customer needs.

Structure101 is an agile architecture development environment (ADE) that lets the software development team organize a codebase. Traditionally recognized outside of the code development process, its integration into Sonar’s Clean Code offering allows for the identification and flagging of potential structural issues right at the start of code development, as it's written.
