StackGen has partnered with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to bring its platform to the Google Cloud Marketplace.
Sauce Labs announced the launch of Sauce for Microsoft Visual Studio Online (VSO), a service that adds highly scalable automated and manual testing functionality to the Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) components provided by VSO.
VSO provides a set of cloud-powered collaboration tools that work with a company’s existing integrated development environment (IDE) or editor, so that teams can work effectively on software projects of all shapes and sizes. In one single package, VSO includes services for teams to share code, track work, and ship software, for any development language.
Sauce for VSO offers an integrated automated testing solution with secure, reliable access to thousands of VMs that can be configured to run tests against nearly 700 different browser/platform/OS combinations, including mobile emulators/simulators and real devices.
Optimized for CI/CD environments, builds can be configured so that unit and regression tests are automatically run with each pull request, ensuring that only successful builds are released to market - and tests can be run in parallel so that build times are reduced from hours to minutes. Sauce for VSO also provides a facility for testing behind firewalls via Sauce Connect, an enterprise-grade secure tunneling technology that is also part of the VSO integration.
“Our strategic relationship with Microsoft to bring automated testing to Visual Studio Online is further evidence of Sauce Labs’ commitment to accelerate the software development process,” said Charles Ramsey, CEO of Sauce Labs. “Traditional testing methods stand in the way of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery. As more and more organizations move their code pipelines to the cloud for speed and efficiency, Sauce will be there.”
“We think the developer community will find Sauce for Visual Studio Online integration invaluable to their build release process. It’s a natural complement to the Continuous Integration capabilities in Visual Studio Online, and should help them rapidly scale their release cycle,” said Mitra Azizirad, GM, Developer Platform Marketing, Microsoft Corp.
Sauce for VSO is the newest delivery pipeline integration offered by Sauce Labs, and will also work for users of the Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS). With plugins for Jenkins, Travis, Bamboo, TeamCity and other CI servers, Sauce Labs is rapidly becoming the defacto standard for automated testing in Continuous Delivery environments.
