August 09, 2017

XebiaLabs announced that Dr. Nicole Forsgren, preeminent authority on DevOps measurement and research, has joined XebiaLabs in the role of Strategic Advisor to the board of directors.

An IT impacts expert, Forsgren has served as the lead investigator on the largest DevOps studies to date. She is CEO and Chief Scientist at DevOps Research and Assessment (DORA). She also serves as a consultant, expert and researcher in knowledge management and IT adoption and impacts.

She works closely with other prominent DevOps thought leaders, such as Gene Kim and Jez Humble, and has been awarded public and private research grants from organizations, including NASA and the National Science Foundation (NSF). She is well published, with her work featured in top-tier media outlets such as the Wall Street Journal and Forbes.

“Nicole brings practical experience from her research measuring how thousands of enterprises have set themselves apart from their peers by streamlining their IT operations, and more specifically, their application development and delivery,” says Derek Langone, CEO of XebiaLabs. “XebiaLabs offers the industry’s most complete and most scalable DevOps platform ideally suited to address enterprise complexities, like varied IT stacks, thousands of applications, security and compliance regulations, and general red tape. Nicole’s input will help us further evolve our software platform to better serve these global businesses.”

Nicole Forsgren and XebiaLabs have a history of partnering on a variety of efforts, such as public webinars and customer engagements. In her role as a strategic advisor to the XebiaLabs board, she
will provide insight based on her extensive experience helping enterprises and governmental agencies understand the organizational impacts of DevOps and unlock the potential of technological change.

According to Nicole Forsgren: “In my experience, most failures in enterprise software delivery result from the use of workflow technologies that can’t scale as things get more complex. Through my research, I’ve seen the impact on performance that results from this brittle approach. XebiaLabs is the leader in enabling enterprises to avoid such costly scalability mistakes. I’m excited to coach them to more effectively use metrics and best practices to help their clients achieve substantial ROI.”
