Progress announced the Q4 2024 release of its award-winning Progress® Telerik® and Progress® Kendo UI® component libraries.
CA BlazeMeter has released four new technical functionalities.
The first, under the CA BlazeMeter API test, enables reusing API load tests as functional API tests, by clicking on one button. Developers can test single APIs or complete business scenarios, and add them to their Continuous Testing and Continuous Integration process by scheduling them to run periodically. Functional API testing includes reports that enable developers to monitor and analyze requests, responses, pass/fail criteria based on assertions and multiple test trends.
The second, also under the CA BlazeMeter API test, is an Automated Test Case Generator, or Functional API Test Maker. Developers can upload their Swagger or other file into the test creation screen, and the API testing scenarios are automatically generated. Then, developers can choose which scenarios they wish to execute, by clicking a button or as part of the Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration process. In the case of complex APIs, hundreds of tests can be concurrently created, in the time it take to manually create one. At any case, developers can manually override or create tests themselves.
A third innovation offers the ability to protect sensitive data while taking advantage of cloud benefits. CA BlazeMeter now offers private-cloud capabilities for teams who want the convenience and scalability of a cloud-based testing tool, but don’t want to move sensitive data to the cloud. On-premises agents do the heavy lifting and generate load for performance testing, while keeping private information behind the own firewall. Numerical calculations, orchestration and anonymized reporting occur in the cloud.
The fourth functionality is a free Script Converter, available online that transforms LoadRunner HTTP or TruClient scripts to open-source JMeter or Selenium. Developers can upload their scripts in ZIP format, click on the converter and receive files that can be run in JMeter or Selenium. The LoadRunner scripts can also be run in Taurus, and open-source test automation framework, or in BlazeMeter.
These four innovative services complement developers’ needs in an agile world that is shifting left. By reusing their load tests and functional tests they can implement Continuous Testing. By automating API Test creation they can ensure they get full test coverage and focus on developing during agile scripts. By testing through private cloud they can ensure everything gets tested. By moving from centralized LoadRunner to open-source and democratic JMeter and Selenium, they can truly implement load testing as part of their shifting left methods. These are agile novelties in an agile world.
The four cutting-edge functionalities will be officially launched at Velocity 2017.
BlazeMeter is also launching its TEI Framework detailing the economic impact of shifting left and of Blazemeter, as well as the JMeter academy - a contribution to the open-source community consisting of free JMeter training.
