Choosing the right DevOps tools for your business can be a complex and confusing process. There are literally dozens of technology providers out there, from large enterprise companies to smaller, new companies vying for your attention. Whilst these companies provide white papers and other customer feedback, it can be hard to get hold of unbiased and helpful user feedback to help you make an informed decision. Since software is constantly being updated, getting recent reviews can also be difficult.
I founded IT Central Station to help solve this problem, by offering hands-on enterprise software reviews by real users. In the process we've learnt a lot about the latest DevOps products on the market, so I wanted to share some of our latest DevOps reviews on our site, to help make your decision-making process smoother.
CA Release Automation
This user, a Senior Software Engineer, looked at IBM UrbanCode Deploy but ultimately chose CA Release Automation. He found the valuable features to be, "manifest driven, Multi-tier release automation and a comprehensive set of action packs and plug-ins to achieve business requirements." After 4 years of use he describes it as, "a very good product, and can help the organizations in the long run, which will lead to higher customer satisfaction."
New Relic APM
Through using New Relic APM, this real user discovered that his company's online service wasn't as fast and reliable - as expected. He gave New Relic APM five stars because "with the help of New Relic tools, our organization was able to detect, track, and fix errors in our website."
HP ALM
This senior QA Software Lead at a Healthcare company found HP ALM to be expensive, but it had several invaluable features for his organization. According to this real user review, "it has allowed multiple stakeholders of a project to deliver fast, all simultaneously in an ALM system without having disparate sources of information", and "the automation has been a pride and joy as far as mapping requirements to BPT cases to automation."
IT Central Station members have reviewed DevOps and other IT software solutions from companies such as Atlassian, AppDynamics, BMC, Chef, Electric Cloud, IBM Urbancode, Puppet Labs, and others. Our reviews are particularly helpful for IT decision makers because they come from real users who can detail the pros and cons of the solution they've used.
