Pega GenAI Blueprint Adds AI-Driven Legacy Discovery Capabilities
November 19, 2024

Pegasystems announced the availability of new AI-driven legacy discovery capabilities in Pega GenAI Blueprint™ to accelerate the daunting task of modernizing legacy systems that hold organizations back.

Now IT teams can analyze their existing systems in seconds and reimagine their workflows while reducing technical debt.

Pega GenAI Blueprint, the AI-infused workflow design platform launched earlier this year, empowers organizations to reimagine their mission-critical workflows, fast. With newly added legacy discovery features, it jumpstarts digital transformation projects to rethink and replace inefficient systems and applications. Users can now leverage generative AI to analyze existing IT assets and quickly create new, modern, cloud-native application ‘blueprints’ that are ready to build. This sidesteps lengthy discovery processes that slow these projects from the start. Teams can then easily collaborate to optimize customer journeys and migrate apps to the cloud – not just lift and shift the same old tech to a new platform.

Available today, new Pega GenAI Blueprint legacy discovery capabilities include features for analyzing:

- Workflows: Pega GenAI Blueprint analyzes Business Process Model and Notation (.bpmn) files commonly used for mapping legacy system workflows. These files are translated into new workflow blueprints built on Pega’s industry-leading case management. The workflows can be easily refined from static processes into dynamic, efficient customer journeys.

- Process mining analysis: For those who lack .bpmn files or related system documentation, Pega Process Mining enables users to analyze systems to uncover process maps, inefficiencies, and optimization opportunities. Now those insights can be instantly turned into Pega blueprints with just one click to jumpstart the redesign process.

- Data definitions: Users can import data definition language (.DDL) files – a syntax that describes database structures – directly from their legacy systems. Pega GenAI Blueprint analyzes these files to generate a data model for their reimagined application – including data objects, fields, and relationships. This enables quick data migration out of existing systems and into new cloud-native data services.

- Integrations: Pega GenAI Blueprint analyzes OpenAPI documents in YAML (.yaml) – the standard for describing back-end system integrations – and automatically builds new data object models in the blueprint. Pega’s Live Data virtualization layer rationalizes the integrations into a logical data model between workflows and back-end systems, abstracting complexity and enabling increased workflow agility.

Pega GenAI Blueprint releases new features every week to make app design easier and faster. The latest updates include the ability to add new automation types, like AI and robotic processes, to the apps. Plus, with enhanced Live Preview, users can see how their app will look for different personas before going live, complete with their organization’s brand style and simulated data.

The new Pega GenAI Blueprint features are available now to anyone with a free Pega user login.
