Citrix announced the general availability of Citrix VDA for macOS, expanding their desktop virtualization solutions, and MacStadium(link is external) support this launch with its industry-leading IaaS offering, optimized for Citrix VDA for macOS deployments in the cloud.
Developing iOS and other Apple platform apps require native Mac hardware for an optimal end-user experience, but distributing Macs to remote developers can be challenging, especially in regions with costly, slow or unreliable shipping. MacStadium solves this by hosting Macs in the cloud, eliminating the need for shipping physical devices. Citrix VDA for macOS complements this by providing performant, secure virtual Mac desktops, enabling IT teams to deliver remote Mac access using existing devices. Together, these solutions address the growing demand for efficient and scalable Mac deployments as global Mac shipments continue to rise.
“Enterprise customers have been asking for a cloud-based Mac virtual desktop solution for years,” said Chris Chapman, CTO at MacStadium. “By partnering with Citrix, we’re proudly delivering a highly flexible, high-performance, and secure solution that meets the needs of businesses worldwide who rely on Macs for critical tasks.”
Citrix VDA for macOS addresses a critical market need for enterprise-grade Mac VDI. While other remote desktop options exist, none have previously met the performance, security, and scalability needs of large, globally distributed teams. Leveraging MacStadium’s best-in-class Mac infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), this new product enables businesses to quickly deploy macOS desktops from anywhere, ensuring stable connectivity, security, and cost savings. Additionally, software developers building, testing, and deploying macOS and iOS applications, along with CIOs and CTOs managing global fleets of Macs, will benefit from this new solution.
This solution provides global users with fast, reliable access to a wide range of macOS cloud-based desktop models, empowering remote teams to work efficiently from any location. It cuts IT costs by enabling quick desktop provisioning for temporary or contract workers without shipping physical hardware. The solution also keeps critical data and devices under ITs control, with remote desktops that can be accessed securely and managed with tailored user permissions.
Citrix VDA for macOS is now officially available, launching today at the opening of Citrix Connect London(link is external). Customers can integrate this solution into their existing Citrix DaaS platforms, using MacStadium’s cloud-hosted Mac hardware to deliver powerful macOS desktops.
