Parasoft(link is external) is showcasing its latest product innovations at embedded world Exhibition, booth 4-318(link is external), including new GenAI integration with Microsoft Visual Studio Code (VS Code) to optimize test automation of safety-critical applications while reducing development time, cost, and risk.
Gearset released its latest innovation for Salesforce DevOps: Dev Sandbox Syncing.
This feature is the first and only solution which solves a common challenge faced by development teams – keeping dev sandboxes in sync with the main branch while ensuring work-in-progress isn't overwritten.
Now available to all existing and new customers utilizing Gearset's Automation solution, the Dev Sandbox Syncing feature ensures that developers can confidently merge their work without causing disruptions or conflicts in the main codebase.
Dev Sandbox Syncing is particularly beneficial for large teams where multiple developers work in parallel. Constant updates to the branch that serves as the source of truth for your org (usually the main or master branch) often result in out-of-date sandboxes, leading to potential conflicts and wasted time. Together with the rest of Gearset's Pipelines solution, the new feature streamlines the synchronization process, allowing developers to work from the most up-to-date version of the main branch while preserving their ongoing work.
Dev Sandbox Syncing enables teams to protect uncommitted work, ensure synchronization during active development, and reduce the burden of managing numerous pull requests. This functionality automatically detects work in progress, preserves synchronization, and provides clear UI guidance, enhancing transparency and confidence in the development process.
"Org syncing is an issue that severely impacts development teams of all sizes. The Gearset solution, which ensures development sandboxes stay perfectly aligned without risking uncommitted work, is nothing short of revolutionary. By automating updates and reducing conflicts, Gearset is helping complex teams to shift left and prevent issues before they impact pipelines," Ben Laplanche, VP of Product, Gearset.
