Datical announced integration with CA’s Automic Application Release Automation (ARA) solution.
The new plug-in allows users easy access to Datical’s database release automation functionality directly from the Automic cloud-enabled automation and orchestration engine.
With the combined power of Datical and Automic, organizations can achieve non-stop, fully automated deployment of both application updates and database changes, supporting continuous delivery and DevOps initiatives. This translates in the ability to deliver innovative, error-free application experiences faster and safer by breaking the application release logjam created by today’s manual database deployment processes.
To meet the need for accelerated release cycles in today’s digital world, companies are modernizing their application release automation capabilities. Movements such as Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD have brought major innovation in application development and deployment. However, practices around database releases have not made the same evolutionary advance.
Datical helps ARA tools deliver on the promises of automation by removing the heavily manual database change management and deployment processes that have slowed software delivery and taxed already overworked database administrators.
Datical automates the process of packaging, validating and deploying database changes in support of application delivery by employing a model-driven approach that treats database code like application code during the release cycle.
In addition to the new Automic Release Automation plug-in, Datical enables database continuous delivery through integration with other ARA solutions such as Jenkins, IBM UrbanCode Deploy and XebiaLabs XL Deploy.
“By offering integration with the Automic’s release automation capabilities, Datical continues to advance its strategy to make database code deployment as fast and easy as application release automation while eliminating risks that cause application downtime and data security vulnerabilities,” said Pete Pickerill, co-founder and VP of Product Strategy at Datical.
